I’m shocked, this changes everything.  By BETH FOUHY, Associated Press Writer 14 minutes ago Hillary Rodham Clinton will concede Tuesday night that Barack Obama has the delegates to secure the Democratic nomination, campaign officials said, effectively ending her bid to be the nation's first female president. Obama is 40 delegates shy of clinching the nomination, but he is widely expected to make up the difference Tuesday with superdelegate support and votes in South Dakota and Montana. Once he reaches the magic number of 2,118, Clinton will acknowledge that he has secured the necessary delegates to be the nominee. The former first lady will stop short of formally suspending or ending her race in her speech in New York City. She will pledge to continue to speak out on issues like health care. But for all intents and purposes, the two senior officials said, the campaign is over. Most campaign staff will be let go and will be paid through June 15, said the officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to divulge her plans. The advisers said Clinton has made a strategic decision to not formally end her campaign, giving her leverage to negotiate with Obama on various matters including a possible vice presidential nomination for her. She also wants to press him on issues he should focus on in the fall, such as health care. Universal health care, Clinton's signature issue as first lady in the 1990s, was a point of dispute between Obama and the New York senator during their epic nomination fight. Clinton was at home in Chappaqua, N.Y., with her husband, former President Clinton, and was placing calls to friends and supporters. On NBC's "Today Show," Clinton campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe said that once Obama gets the majority of convention delegates, "I think Hillary Clinton will congratulate him and call him the nominee." In a formal statement, the campaign made clear the limits of how far she would go in Tuesday night's speech. "Senator Clinton will not concede the nomination," the statement said. Clinton field hands who worked in key battlegrounds said they were told to stand down, without pay, and await instructions. Speaking not for attribution because they didn't want to jeopardize their jobs searches, many said they were peddling resumes, returning to their hometowns or seeking out former employers. Clinton officials have said they would not contest the seating of Michigan delegates at the convention in Denver this August. I thought Hillary would have been better than Obama and McCain too. It’s starting to look like Obama will be the next president. The only chance Hilary has is if Obama gets assassinated. It surprises me that major media hasn’t publicized the Obama gay sex, murder, and drug scandal yet. That suggests to me that the Illuminati wants Obama to win. Maybe Hillary will become vice president and then have Obama assassinated. Then she would automatically become president. That was a tactic George H. W. Bush tried when he was vice president to Reagan but Reagan survived the attempt.

I do not wish for anything bad to happen to anyone but the next few months will be very interesting, IMHO. What I'm alluding to is the choice for Vice President for Obama and McCain. The reason is -- here at this forum someone said McCain will be President but because of his age he will have health problems and die (heart attack? I do not remember) but this would set the stage for 2012 and Ah-nold Schwarzenegger's run for the Presidency and the importance of who McCain picks for VP. And then Goro says on his site Obama is next president with Hillary as Vice Pres. .... *something* happens to Obama during the Presidency and Hillary takes over. This sets up a run in 2012 between Hillary and Mr. Schwarzenegger. All roads lead to Schwarzenegger in 2012.... no doubt in my mind. My wishes and hopes for the future are such - -> I wish for no harm to be done to any of these candidates and I wish for no President with the word WARZ in his name.

Well, I lost my money too, I surely could see Hilary in the top job, but it is not the end of the road as yet, it will be a very interesting year for all Americans and the world because who ever gets the top job is going to change things globally.

I think there’s still a chance Hillary will become president because the psychic twins predicted it and they haven’t been wrong yet as far as I know. Also John Titor said a woman would become president in 2008. aha, what is going on here: confusion, confusion and confusion. Arnold S. as running mate for McCain is still possible. Arnold as President for USA-West sitting in Denver, after McCain illness/dies and Hillary as president for USA-East sitting in Atlanta, after "problems with Obama".

I thought that a person who was not born in the US could not run for presidency? I don’t believe it is the end for Hilary, she is a Scorpio and will not give up that easy, if she does not join him like you say, she will make his job very hard. She is not going to put in all that work and just walk away, I just do not see it. there has to be a hidden plan here that is unknown at this moment in time.

Yes, as it stands now one must have been born on US soil to be able to become President of the USA. I don't know about VP but it stands to reason that same would apply. However should something happen to the President I believe it is the Speaker of The House of Represenatives who takes charge in the interim. Qualifications for the Vice President are the same as for the President. One must be a native born citizen of the United States ,be of at least 35 years of age and have resided at least 14 years within the United States. Should there be an interim between the removal or disability or demise of the President and the installation of the Vice President to President ,the Speaker of the House is the Acting President. This has been and is a subject of debate given various scenarios within the government and the application of the framework of the Constitution. Consider this example. The demise of one of the Presidential candidates? or in the event both the President and the VP have died or are disabled Article ll gives Congress the power to decide what officer should act as President. That brings us to the question as to who should be that officer and in the event that both the President and the VP have died how long should that officer preside? These issues aren't clearly covered within the framework as it stood in 2002 however there has ,since 2002 , been a controversial revised(I think) Continuity of Government Plan that I have yet to familiarize myself with. It’s all very interesting, perhaps the person who has been left out of the charade will end up with the top job – McCain, but he just seems so old whenever I have seen him on the TV, as citizens of the US, do you think either candidates will make good changes to your country, because that is all that is important at the end of the day, what changes do the citizens of the US want in general.
