12.09.2008 Source: URL: http://english.pravda.ru/opinion/columnists/106354-palindevil-0 The candidate for the Vice Presidency of the United States of America, whose experience in small town politics, mothers´day dos and the local hockey club is her claim to fame, threatened to open the gates of Hell by attacking Russia in the event of another invasion of Georgia in a televised interview on ABC (shown today). One question for this self-opinionated upstart: Do you know what a nuclear holocaust is? Sarah Palin, Mrs. Nobody know-it-all shreiking cow from Alaska, the joke of American politics, plied with a couple of vodkas before letting rip in front of incredulous audiences while McCain coos in the background, cuts a ridiculous figure as she strives to be taken seriously. How can anyone whose husband is a member of the Alaska Independence Party and who is running for the Vice Presidency of the Union be taken seriously? How indeed can the Republican Party be taken seriously for not vetting this female, or have they not yet discovered the skeletons in her closet? We have. So Sarah Palin, Mrs. Hockey Mom housewife-cum-small-town gossip merchant and cheap little guttersnipe, suppose you shut up and allowed real politicians and diplomats to do their work? Threatening Russia with a war is perhaps the most irresponsible thing anyone could do at this moment in time. Have you any idea what a nuclear holocaust is? Have you any notion of the power of Russia’s armed forces? Did you know that Russia has enough missiles to destroy any target anywhere on Earth in seconds? And have you not forgotten, you pith-headed little bimbo from the back of beyond, that small detail about the slaughter of Russian citizens by Georgians, which started the whole debacle? So next time suppose you keep your mouth shut and while you’re at it, make sure the members of your family keep their legs shut too. Your country has enough failed mothers as it is. I had understood that the question posed by Charlie Gibson was something along the lines of would the US go to war with Russia if Georgia were a NATO member and Moscow invaded it, and Palin replied "possibly so". NATO exists for the purpose of mutual defense. Under the treaty, the US would be obligated to participate with other NATO countries in Georgia's defense if Russia invaded. While Palin has yet to impress anyone with her grasp of foreign affairs, she was correct in what she said. Timothy Bancroft-Hinchey's vitriolic "analysis" seems to conveniently ignore this most salient of facts.

The devil in disguise! Interesting quote, besides what is written about her or the fact that her daughter is pregnant, what do people think of her in general? I don’t really watch or know a great deal about US politics but people seem to like her, but how is she going to do all that work with so many children was my first thought. The other important thing to remember is when women do get this type of power they can be very ruthless and love enforcing war or control. What I do find interesting is the ‘trend’ (although it is not really a trend, it is part of the collective energy becoming more balanced) of women and men united in the top political jobs, we have a male prime minster, woman second, and this is becoming very common around the world. However at the end of the day Mrs. Palin must have some purpose/agenda just to get to where she is, they would not allow some hockey PT mother in that job unless she was useful, politics does not work by chance or knowledge.

I thought the article was funny. It sounds like the Russians don’t like Palin. It sounds like most Americans do like Palin and I’m starting to think she’ll help McCain win the election. Obama screwed up not picking Hilary. That decision will cost him the election. Palin sounds like your typical Republican and I think McCain and Palin will just bring us more of the same things that are going on now. It will be like Bush never left office.

I think it was Louis Turi (the self-proclaimed astropsychologist) who stated earlier this year that there would be shocking events surrounding this election. I'd say Palin is the first.

I have seen more articles/blogs written about her shoes, children and personal background than I have her policies. However, I do think that she is a bad 'choice'. She is one of those Christian fundamentalist-types who is vehemently anti-abortion and pro-creationist. She also wants women to purchase their own rape kits after they have been assaulted! The masses are blinded by the novelty of a woman being VP and what it means historically.

"The masses are blinded by the novelty of a woman being VP and what it means historically." Apparently Geraldine Ferraro didn't leave much of an impression.

Am I the only one that can't even take this election seriously? My husband, who is politically UNSAVY, is pretty much obsessed. I look at it as a big joke being played on us all. The lessor of the Two evils would definitely be a change though. Anything associated with Bush is already proven to be basically evil. .

Well, I just can not believe how worked up people get over an election, or how much money is wasted on the ‘trail blazing’ to achieve the support of the people and getting votes, it is just absolutely incredible, especially with the financial trouble that your country if currently feeling. People are ‘absolutely completely’ fanatical to these politicians, has it always been so obsessive? Do people really believe that the changes promised will happen? Do the citizens of the US really trust these people that much?

Apparently so, because she appears to be all but forgotten when people write their articles about Sarah's run and what it means for women and feminism. I agree, William. Karen has pointed out how well the imprinting and mind control is working on many when it comes to drawing them into the election hoopla to be energy generators for the politicians. It is human nature to want to rally behind a cause.

I think it makes some difference because Windsor controls the republicans and Rothschild controls the democrats. If it didn’t make a difference, then candidates wouldn’t struggle to beat each other. Each candidate has their own agendas.

I agree Richard, and even though they are considered ‘puppets’ to the real leaders they do hold energy to that position, and they will create a political era, they do have some input, they are not zombies, and I have to say that depending on what the people want does make a difference, so if the people get so blinded by the hoo ha of it all and not what the country actually needs, that is the energy that will manifest from the winning corner!

Another thing to think about is Bush wouldn’t have cheated in 2 elections if it didn’t matter who was president. Right now Bush and Cheney want to attack Iran because they feel if Obama wins he won’t attack Iran. So I think they’ll be attacking Iran soon. If they don’t, then there will be election fraud to make sure McCain wins because they know McCain will attack Iran.
