It was 1999 I was in a bar watching a local band when a friend of mine came up to me and told me that he had a present for me. He said we had to go to his place for me to do it. He lit some candles, lit some incense and put some peaceful music on. He had kind of a cheesy dragon on top of his stereo. He packed a glass bowl full of 'nugs' as they were known back then. He pulled out a little moth ball looking thing and placed it on the top. He told me that when I take a hit, I am to hit it as hard as I can hold it for as long as I can and repeat for as many times as I can. It should be known that I have EXPERIMENTED with psychedelics and so Im familiar with altered states of consciousness. I was utterly unprepared for what was to come next. Within 30 seconds of ingestion I could feel every part of my being and was fully aware. I saw some circles that were spinning and they merged to a specific singular point. There was a crackle of some sort. I remember a twinkling sound and could see some stars but the space I was in was conical. It was jet black at he bottom and dispersed to a myriad of blues. I remember truly becoming aware of being in another place. Almost simultaneously, a being started to approach me. It was dancing a weird and quick dance. A rigid movement. He looked like C3PO only he had a silver fluid skin, a small round mouth and a prominent curly cue atop it's head. With each move that the entity would perform there would be these creepy electronic bells. At first, I thought I was just hallucinating. It didnt become clear until It was rotating around my face saying, "What are you doing here?" When it became apparent that my ego was still intact and It was asking me a question telepathically, outside of me, that I realised I was a long way from Kansas. I became perturbed and instantly the room morphed into a square neon yellow and blue space. I noticed a ball of light floating towards me. Another being, square, was peeking from behind the squares placed in the technicolor hall. It began waving and smiling at me. It was playing 'peek-a-boo' with me, with its little square hands. It knew I was alarmed and it telepathically told me to not be afraid. It told me 'We don't get to see you here often". It continued, 'Lets go Play'. I literally felt like it was a death state. I also knew that I had a choice. It knew I couldn't overcome and continue on (not to mention the affects of the compound were wearing off) adn so it simply said I love you and it made me feel like an infant. I consciously remember choosing to come back to Earth. When I started coming down, the furniture in my friends apartment started to take form in his room. When the tryptamine was nearing the end, I looked at the cheesy dragon and it was slithering, seemingly alive. After five minutes, my visit to hyperspace had ended. I was flabbergasted! My friend was giggling because he knew what I saw and that it was rare here post 60's and in the United States. The following day, I took my daughter to a Universal Unitarian Church which has a Gothic structure. While sitting there with her I looked at the stained glass and listened to the acoustics of the Church. I realised that they were trying to emulate hyperspace on Earth. I personally like certain forms of electronic music. I picked up a disc called 'Alien Dreamtime featuring Terrence Mckenna' by Spacetime Continuum. I had not heard of McKenna before this time. As I was listening to the music he started talking about the 'Self Transforming Machine Elves'. His description of his experiences about the DMT experience were EXACTLY like mine. The crackling that I experienced, which he describes as a celophane ripping, was the membrane of our dimension being crossed. The beings are real. If you take a high enough dose, you will see them. All of this is well and good and when I tell it to 'normal' people they just think that Im crazy. When you consider, that the NIH were doing studies on this compound and many people saw the same type of things that I have, things dont sound so unbelievable. Also consider that most living things on the planet possess this compound. When I tell people that it location is the pineal (Third Eye, Seat of the Soul, Anja). It still doesn't sink in to them. My personal opinion is that they are natural for a reason. This includes various psychedelic mushrooms that contain tryptamine. McKenna says that the mushroom variants contain the aural communication device and that DMT and ayhuasca containg both visual and aural. Ive heard plenty of messages on the shrooms end. I agree with him. So my point is this: Its not SETI that will contact them through radio transmissions. IMO, They in fact, ARE REAL (both physically and hyperspacially), Ancient, and have been here from time immemorial. To communicate with them are natural devices placed in many natural substances dotted all over the Earth. In fact, they are just beyond the membrane of your own pineal gland. Call me Crazy, many have. I know what I saw.

Ahhhhhhh Anubis .... I do not call you crazy. I believe you. DMT experiences have been a fascination of mine for 2 years. I have read Terrence, the Spirit Molecule by Strassman, and all of the 100's of online written experiences. Everyone, well just about everyone, report the same sort of experience - especially with the machine elves. This. Is. FASCINATING. To. Me. I want to say to you... congratulations my friend.... (I know we aren't really friends but I feel like using that term here, now) ..... on gaining access to the otherside and coming back to speak of it. What an experience!  There is a scene in Close Encounters of the Third Kind toward the end -- Francois Truffant says to Richard Dreyfuss - "Monsieur Neary, I envy you." Anubis Cell, I envy you.

Here is an article that interviews Dr. Strassmen on Daniel Pinchbecks (Breaking Open the Head) site. Anubis, thanks for the definition and the link - what an interesting article! Just for fun, I checked on Duke's ethnobotanical database (http://www.ars-grin.gov/duke/)to see what other plants have high concentrations of DMT and telepathine (aka harmaline). It turns out telepathine occurs in high concentration in passion flower, which is widely available as a hypnotic sedative. Maybe this explains why passion flower makes me feel "spaced out" when I take it.  I'm not sure my own brain chemistry is robust enough for me to experiment with psychedelics but there's no question this is a fascinating area of exploration. I'll be very interested in reading anything more you choose to share about your psychedelic experiences.

I would guess that indeed, harmaline is the responsible agent for your spacey feeling. I cant stress enough, the importance of the Tryptamine family to the consciousness of many living things. For example, it is found in Serotonin and Melatonin. These would be our wake/sleep states and our happy/sad states. They basically would be the major chemicals in charge of our 'Reality Filters". It has been found that people with abnormal levels of Tryptamines are 'schizophrenic' and such. Hence, the reality filters are not normal. Now, when you amp your DMT levels, you seem to enter other dimensions. Huxley called it the 'Doors of Perception". Here, you will meet the 'Tykes'. South American Shaman called it the realm of the Ancestors. I think they are interdimensional beings. There is a reason they are listed a schedule one drug punishable by prison, despite it naturally occurring in animals, plants and fungi. They expose the lie. If this is possible (hyperspace), what we live in our waking state is an illusion. Its an occult Black Iron Prison that TPTB have been constructing for aeons through our collective psyche. It is a threat to their power base (the 'elite' are really of an ancient bloodline or connected to an ancient bloodline, some say they are reptilian hybrids). If enough people awaken they are toast. Isn't it interesting that the psychotropic drugs (prozac, depakote, abilify, pristiq, seroquil,etc,etc,etc.... manipulate the very tryptamines we speak of. Also, isnt intersting the drugs that are 'legal'(alchohol, tobacco, caffeine) are the most damaging. ALL BY DESIGN. They are placed here for a reason. I suspect that reason is to communicate and to be connected with 'whatever' it is (I suspect that it is a subjective opinion). I think that you would be refresed and cleansed if you did a small amount of psilosybin mushrooms (2.5 grams) in your favorite natural environment and with a positve mindframe. They wont hurt you and deliberately give you a bad trip. Its easy to overcome negative feeling with it. It will let you know in a spiritual manner that everything is okay that there are forces in control and that everything is connected with everything. Its important to treat these with the utmost respect and in a sacred manner. They tend to not like the abusers and will not return respect to those that mistreat its sanctity.

Anubis... I hope you will stick around this place. I have seen so many people come and go here and then never to be heard of again. And they had interesting posts like you. I did not know Dr Strassman had a new book come out in May 2008 so I ordered it today from amazon (the one in the article you posted).

The members seem to be mature, well spoken, well read in various subjects, kind and genuinely concerned for our fellow human beings. I love your signature. He is among the great philosophers and we actually were able to read and hear him in our own time (not to mention Robert Anton Wilson amongst others that I will not mention at this time). I find it synchronistic that you live in Eden. That's hilarious. I wish you and yours much life and love. Incidentally, I have 3 dogs 2 cats 2 cockatiels 2 Zebra Finches 2 goldfish and a sucker of some sort. Although the frequency of my posts my variate I'll always check this site because there are some good people here. Alot of creativity and well researched things going on. Later.

William, yes I read 4 of the series in the 70's -- sooo long ago, but I do still have the books on my shelf if I want to check it out again. I loved those books. But what I can remember...... it was over thirty years ago so memory fails me, but I thought "The Dreaming" was induced with Peyote Buttons and not DMT. If I'm wrong please let me know, but I think the DMT experience is unique and different from peyote. I have an idea that came to me but I might add it later tonight as I have to get ready for work now.

They were great books. From what I can remember I buried my nose in his books and didn't come out for days. My new book arrived today - the new one from Dr. Strassman and others. I know what I'll be doing this weekend, starting tonight, I'll be reading about the machine elves and other worlds just a step away.

I have yet to find someone who has read All the Don Juan series books. I say this because there is such a twist in them that his writing alone is worth reading.... But most dont have the energy enough to read all of his books....

A few weeks ago I experienced sleep paralysis for the first time. I couldn't move, and there was a tall bi-pedal hominid standing in the corner of my room. It sounded as if it were calling for my attention, but it was just noise, and blurry noise at that. Needless to say, I started reading into sleep paralysis, a phenomenon where your brain awakens from REM-stage sleep, but your body remains in the sleep-state induced paralysis that accompanies REM sleep. Vivid, and many times reportedly horrifying, disturbing, or supernatural hallucinations are associated with sleep paralysis, and is comparable to the feeling of a deeply psychotropic, paralytic dissociative. Other phenomena that are sometimes associated with sleep paralysis are reports of alien abduction, and ghostly encounters. During REM sleep, the body is paralyzed, and the mind begins dreaming, due to the secretion of endogenous DMT into the cerebro-spinal fluid of the brain. DMT when taken as a recreational, or spiritual psychoactive drug, its effects are best described as a paralytic, dissociative, psychotogenic hallucinogen, or psychedelic. Anubis hit the description of the overall experience right on the head. Perhaps it is not too far off the mark to theorize that one of the chemical reactions in the brain accompanying sleep paralysis is the secretion of DMT - it would account for the vivid hallucinations, and spiritual context of these wild surrealities. For that matter, if you subscribe to the philosophy that the method of the exploration of the vast infinity of space and time is internally through oneself, then perhaps you will agree that the hallucinations accompanying sleep paralysis are a glimpse into an alternate dimension parallel to our own, into which access would be extremely easy under the influence of endogenous DMT. I'm popping back into this thread to say I'm on page 117 on Inner Paths To Outer Space. Great book. I had the thought today that some wait for the aliens to come to them, but why not reverse it -- WE go into their dimension, with the help of the umbilical cord known as DMT. Just about impossible to find but apparently once obtained it's worth it. I have not tried DMT myself but the stories of those that have continue to be a main interest of mine.

I have so much to say. 1st Carlos Casteneda was the first thing I thought of while reading your post, very similar. . 2nd I feel like I have experienced these sort of entities in my dreams. THEY appear like normal PEOPLE until THEY realize I see who they are, then THEY change.Most times they are Very aggresive. Your stories remind me of my fathers. HE did psychodelic drug in the 70s similar stories indeed.
