Sunset Sun moving through the clouds A glowing orb of shimmering Trickling waves of watery light Rays spilling in dancing arcs Over metal-tinted landscapes The greens painted gold Streaking the sky orange and amber Clear, silvered azure spaces Cool and open in a bowl Long shadows playing games Shivering as they faint Fading into the indigo blackness Pulling the night behind it

Beautiful poem Monica... you truly 'paint' with words! Dusk is my favorite time of the day and I can see the shadows "shivering as they faint". Wonderful emotional intense imagery. ... thanks for sharing it with us. ~Sheri

I think these poems are great. But It would be neat to hear you speak your poems. When I write poems they sound different in my head then how some may read it. So as for Monica or anyone else wanting to post poems it would be great to hear how the poem really sounds. You could record your voice speaking the poem and post it on your MYSpace if you wanted too. Even maybe have background music to ad a touch. But some poems are intended to be just your voice. Its just a thought. Might be able to post the voice recording here on the forum or I might have a web space sometime for this. Just trying to get creative here some! stir things up a bit.

Monica that is a beautiful poem indeed! V-SmileyV-Smiley It is so visual and so relaxing. I imagined standing on the shoreline on a distant and magical planet. I saw the ocean rolling out to the horizon and the Sun glimmering in the Atmosphere as the Sunset brought the nighttime to the land and water. Thanks for the feedbak everyone! William - I don't tend to speak my poems out loud anyway. They are more designed to be read so people can find their own imagery within them. However, when I write poems as songs it is different of course. I just don't have any songs to sing right now! Avatar - your visuals sound amazing! It's nice to see you again
