Wow!  I'm thinking tornados in CO are not common but I don't know for sure.

This is rather ironic:

The State Farm building in Greeley, the regional headquarters of the insurance agency, received a "direct hit."

This was a monster in width anyway. Tornadoes are not unheard of in Colorado having had approximately 50 in the last 55 years. Most of those being F0-F1 according to tornado history. There was one F4 recorded.

Okay, so average approximately one a year but savage tornadoes on the scale are not common in CO and CO is not considered a part of tornado alley.

It's mind boggling the force behind those creatures (tornadoes I mean).  I wonder what was going on in that area energy-wise.

"Patrick Love of the Poudre Valley Fire Authority, who is acting as spokesman in Windsor, said that Windsor was hit by "multiple tornadoes" on the southeast side of the town."

Well it did strike the town of Windsor :? . It was unusual for a tornado to touchdown in this part of Colorado so close to the mountain range.

I don't know about that Tornado Alley designation. Eastern Colorado is in Tornado Alley while Ohio and Kentucky aren't. Believe me Ohio and Kentucky have seen their share of devasting tornadoes. I've been in a few of them.

Owensboro Ky. , Evansville Indiana and Xenia Ohio seem to be tornado magnets.
