Video: Equipment Drops From Sky Onto Woman's Property

A couple in Texas was shocked to discover a large satellite-like object on their farm after it fell from the sky Wednesday night.

"I didn't think it was very likely (for it to land on property)"," Nefstead said. "We went outside and saw what had come down outside."

"It's a once in a lifetime thing," Scott Nefstead said.

Recently, scientists from the National Center for Atmospheric Research facility launched the space equipment as a test flight, according to the report.

Officials said the equipment stays in the lower atmosphere and is designed to drop to earth after gathering weather related data.

The space equipment did not hit anything when it landed on the farm.

Scientists said they plan to get the telescope this week.

I have often wondered about ‘space stuff’ coming down, because my insurance policy covers this type of thing, but word it in a legal way so you don’t really think about it, and it could be extremely dangerous.

That’s a good idea to have insurance coverage for space stuff. This story seems a little strange to me. On the video the news anchor said "the satellite floated down from the sky". She also said it was "designed to stay in the lower atmosphere and is designed to drop to earth after gathering weather related data". It sounds crazy to design it that way. That means anyone that might be underneath it when it does, dies in the name of science.

Interesting rumors are going around the net. Some are saying it is part of the secret US anti-alien defense system. They say the government has dozens of these things up at all times observing earth orbit for signs of alien craft intrusion.

Maybe the purpose of such an article is to wake up the general population to look up instead of down! The general public has no idea or do not even think about the technology just above the earths surface. Even those who think Google earth is fun, they can not begin to fathom how many satellites are actually up there watching our every move and can zoom in, listen and observe.

I did once read an interview with a guy from S4 at Area 51 who said they can spot an object the size of a basketball to a distance of 1200 miles out in space!
