...let me introduce myself. I'm fungus (obviously). I reside in Croatia. I actually caught a glimpse of familliar faces here which makes me feel even more welcome here.  Also, a big hello to all of the members!

Why fungus? Well, English isn't my first language obviously so some words fascinate me. Fungus is only one of them. There's a nice ring to it.  Seriously? I use that word (in Croatian) to describe people who are passive and not so bright, so I ended up using it as my nick. And yes Richard, you might say that. Not only a reader, of course!

fungus, physical reality can be pretty boring at times where I am, too. How does one spell the equivalent of fungus in the Croatian language? Yes, I am following MoonChild's posts about your "adventures." I like how the tables are being turned. There is a lot of that going on these days.

That word is a diminutive of the word "gljiva" which means mushroom. I actually use the Croatian word for mushroom (gljiv-a) but only 'cause if I used fungus (gljiv-ica) it would sound like a pet name -- let's see if I can try to picture this in English: it would be something like the relation of "mushroom" and "mushroomette". This way I give it more edge! English language differes these two words far more better so fungus is my first choice.
