These are our terms and by registering, posting and participating on this forum, you agree to these terms.
Users of the forum are asked to read and understand the following rules and guidelines; these are intended to outline what constitutes unacceptable conduct. It is our aim to provide a high quality, friendly environment for our visitors, anyone who breaks these rules may be subject to having their account disabled and posting privileges removed.
The Administrators and forum Moderators have the full authority, at their own discretion, to edit, delete or keep any post.
The above-authorized persons are not under any obligation to give any prior notice or to justify why a post was edited, deleted or retained.
While Hyperspace Cafe reserves the right to edit or delete any post or thread, the following categories encompass the majority of all edited or deleted posts.
1. No spam - Spam includes: Posting advertisements for websites, forums, products or services, posting large numbers of one worded posts, posting multiple identical posts or registering solely for the purpose of advertising a site, forum, product or service. Members may include a link to their own web site in their signature or use the "your website url" profile field.
2. No explicit 'adult' material - This includes but is not limited to; pornographic material or links, sexually explicit references or images, graphic images of death or violence, or excessive use of sexual innuendo in posts or blog entries. Remember that we have visitors of all ages, please respect this fact when you post.
3. No offensive language - Users are encouraged to avoid using offensive language and vulgarities when they post, moderators are on the look out for anyone who constantly uses offensive language, or who tries to get around the offensive language filters in any way. Please respect those who do not want to read swear words and vulgarities and avoid the use of such language in your posts.
4. No illegal activities - Discussions about and links to illegal software are prohibited, as are discussions describing acts of drug taking, hacking or other illegal practices.
5. Please speak English on the forums - As this is an English speaking forum, we ask that all our users please speak in English when posting, postings that are in a foreign language cannot be understood by the vast majority of visitors and make the job of the moderators a lot more difficult.
6. No harassment or hate related posts - We have zero tolerance for those who harass or victimize other members in any way; racism, hatred related posts, retaliation, the spreading of rumors or harassing members via e-mail or personal messages.
7. No plagiarism - Do not copy other people's work, either from this site or from another site, without properly acknowledging the original source or author; passing off other people's work as your own is plagiarism and will not be tolerated on the forum.
8. No flaming - This includes making personal attacks against other members, verbal abuse, starting knowingly offensive topics, mocking or being offensive towards someone. Such posts or topics will be removed or closed by a moderator on sight.
9. No profile abuse - Using your profile to post offensive or unsuitable material, or using it to harass or offend another user is unacceptable. The moderators reserve the right to remove your signature if they find it overly long, offensive or unsuitable.
10. No multiple identities - No registering multiple usernames and engaging in 'multiple personality' activities; i.e. pretending to be several different people. Anyone caught doing this will have all related usernames disabled and their posting privileges removed.
11. Please stay on topic - Please try to post in the correct board sections, the forum is divided into different boards so that discussions can be grouped based on their subjects, the moderators will move threads that are inappropriate to the category in which they have been started. It is also encouraged for users to stay on topic within specific threads as well; if a thread has gone totally off topic then it is likely to end up being closed.
12. Please respect the moderator’s decisions - Any thread or post which is designed to criticize or question the decision of a moderator will be deleted on sight. If you have a query relating to a moderator action, please send a personal message to the moderator in question or to an administrator.
13. The use of anonymous proxies and other IP hiding techniques is not permitted - These IP's are blocked on a regular basis, which may limit your access to the forums. Continued use of these systems may lead to your account being terminated.
14. One hour editing - Due to security issues and the need to ensure the quality of our knowledgebase, we have a one hour limit on the ability for members to edit their posts. What this means, is that members have the ability to edit their own posts for one hour after creating it. This also means, as a rule, that we do not remove or delete content from our forums. So, before you post, consider this rule. If, for some reason, a member needs to edit a post to correct spelling or grammar errors that is more than one hour old, an administrator can assist you to make the necessary changes.
Hyperspace Cafe reserves the right to change or add to these rules at any time, and in any situation the decision of an Administrator is final.
Hyperspace Cafe expects its members to conduct themselves in a civil manner and treat all others with respect. While Hyperspace Cafe encourages free and open discussion it is imperative that certain standards of civility are maintained. Please try to be positive, objective, and constructive in all that you post.
Hyperspace Cafe moderators police the forum regularly and reserve the right to ban users without warning if any of the above General Rules are violated. Users found to be in conflict with any of the above General Rules will be subject to warnings. Banishment is a last resort; however users can be banned without warning.
